Push The X-Files Way

With the release of Push (The Movie) and being someone that is a big fan of Heroes (TV Show), I was wondering where the term used as “Push” (The movie) and “Pusher” came from. No, I don’t mean the pill pusher, or anything like that. I am talking about the type of push or pusher as portraid in the movie Push.

That got me to thinking and hitting Google. What I found is an episode of the X Files Ihad forgotten about until now. Season 3 Episode 17.

So, that takes me back even firther to the Stephen King movie Firestarter. If I remember correctly, Andy, the father of Charlie had the ability to “Push” people. ( the taxi driver - making him see more than he handed him? ) It has been at least 20 years since I read the book.. and I havent seen the movie, and I seem to recall that. Also, tword the end, Charlie is in the barn with “John” (Rainbird?) Andy and another character walk in, Charlie looks at her Dad and says “you pushed him”.
